CIS Invites you to come away and Experience...

Individually Guided Holy Week Retreat

Based on Saint Ignatius of Loyola's Spiritual Exercises, this retreat is for men and women who long for a deep encounter with God, and who desire to pray in unity with the whole Church as it commemorates the Lord's passion, death and resurrection.

The Holy Week Triduum is a very good time to take some days off from home and work in order to engage God in quiet prayer and to prepare for the great Easter mysteries.

This individually guided retreat is a good opportunity to reflect on the past year, to savor concrete life events and to notice the unique way by which God invites individuals to share in His Paschal Mystery.

A major highlight of this retreat is the rich liturgy of the Paschal Triduum presided over by the Jesuit fathers of Sacred Heart Novitiate.

Through the years, the Center for Ignatian Spirituality Philippines has been providing individually guided days of prayer based on the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.

Distinct from the usual preached type of retreat, each retreatant is provided a guide whom he/she meets each day to share fruits of prayer according to the prayer matter suggested.

Retreatants pray three to four times a day with each prayer period lasting from thirty minutes to an hour.

The retreat begins at dusk of Holy Wednesday, and ends mid-day of Easter Sunday.

I was one of those who joined the Holy Week Retreat '06. Just want to tell you how grateful I am to be part of that retreat. The experience I have is beautiful! As a result of the experiences, I have made my own blogsite (http://erlynqm.blogspot.com) where I shared what I have experienced during the retreat, and my realizations after the retreat. Thanks to all, especially to Fr. Allain for the beautiful homilies, and Fr. Arnie, too. To all who welcomed and took care of us, Daghan Salamat!
